Le sedie di Mikko Laakkonen al Salone del Mobile

Il rinomato designer finlandese Mikko Laakkonen sarà presente all’edizione 2014 del Salone del Mobile di Milano ( 8-13 aprile 2014) con alcune sue creazioni
che le vedrà partecipe insieme ad altri designer finlandesi sia in Fiera che in alcuni eventi Fuorisalone.

In particolare presenterà la sedia Tivoli, che sfruttando un tecnologia innovativa ed efficiente in termini di costi per produrre bastoncelli di legno, rappresenta una nuova interpretazione del design scandinavo della metà del Novecento.
Il risultato è una sedia classica, ma al tempo stesso unica, adatta sia ad ambienti pubblici che privati.

Biography of Mikko Laakkonen:



Mikko Laakkonen was born in Espoo in 1974. After graduating as a musical instrument maker, he studied furniture design at Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences, and later received his Masters degree from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. After working in design and architecture firms for several years, Mikko founded Studio Mikko Laakkonen in 2004. The Studio offers product design services, with the main focus on everyday items. Mikko’s designs have been on display in several exhibitions around Europe, the United States, China and Japan.



He has been awarded the number of international and national prizes, including: Finnish Designer Awards ’14: Furniture Designer Of The Year, Reddot: best of the best design award (2013) Reddot design award (2012), Chicago Athenaeum's Good Design Award (2010) and the Young Designer of the Year prize (2009).



Today, Mikko Laakkonen cooperates with various clients which are from Finland, Sweden, Turkey, China and Italy include: Marimekko, Martela, Inno, Isku, Offecct, Pasabahce, Casamania, Covo etc.



I believe that every project is different, and strive to find a tailored solution that combines both the client’s needs and my expertise in design. My focus is to create unique, insightful items for everyday use.
